What’s new in the 2020 Kia Soul?

The Kia brand has been making a lot of waves lately, and we love every minute of it. The record-breaking Kia Niro is what kicked everything off, but it was the introduction of the Kia Stinger that really ramped things up. Now, the entire lineup is looking sportier and more stylish than ever, and those changes will only continue to be made as Kia improves everything the brand has to offer. Next, they’re releasing an all-new, completely redesigned 2020 Kia Soul, and we’re stoked about everything that’s new in the model.

“The Soul has been a massive success since its introduction to the U.S. market, blowing its (now defunct) rivals out of the water and establishing itself as an automotive icon with its fun-loving character and eccentric style. Even with an entirely new generation of competitors now crowding the marketplace, we are confident the all-new Soul will once again prove to be a tough contender given its unparalleled style and impressive level of invigorating technology and customization options.”

Design

A ton of design changes on the inside and outside have been made, including a host of new features and technologies as well. On the outside, the lights and grille were completely remodeled to introduce a bolder first impression, roof rack mounting points make it ready to tackle the weekend, and that’s only scratching the surface. On the inside, a brand-new mood lighting system has been introduced, along with other new technologies like wireless charging and dual automatic climate control.

Performance

Shoppers will be able to choose between two different powertrain options. The first combines the 2.0L Nu 4-cylinder engine with either a 6-speed manual transmission or the 2019 Forte’s new Intelligent Variable Transmission. Either way, the new soul will generate 147 horsepower. But for those looking for more bang for their buck, they can opt for the smaller but turbocharged option, a 1.6L twin-turbo engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission capable of generating 201 horsepower.
