New 2020 Kia Forte GT Trim

The big change that the 2020 Kia Forte will have that the 2019 Forte will not is the additional GT trim. For 2019, the EX was the highest trim available. Now, the GT is higher than the EX starting with the 2020 Kia Forte. Since this is a new trim, how does it compare to the EX level?

The GT will feature a 1.6L engine with 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The EX for both the 2020 and 2019 model years have a 2.0L engine with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. As you can tell, this is a huge upgrade! In addition, the GT offers two different transmission choices. You can pick a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive or a 7-speed auto-shift manual transmission with overdrive and auto-manual mode. To complement the added performance features, the front row will also have sport seats.
