New engine for a new year

The 2020 Kia Soul has always been a top performer in its class. When the new version arrives, the standard engine option will be a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine and it will be attached to a six-speed manual transmission. It will make 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. Some trims can also choose among some trim grades that use a continuously variable transmission. For a little more performance, a twin-turbocharged 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine is also available. When it’s attached to its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, making 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.

How much space is available?

From a physical standpoint, the 2020 Kia Soul is a little more than two inches longer and has a wheelbase that is also a bit more than an inch wider than the previous model. That translates into addition legroom for the front passenger and additional cargo volume. When there are passengers sitting in the backseat of the 2020 Soul, there will be 23.8 cubic-feet of cargo volume left to use. That represents an increase of 5 cubic-feet.
