Since then, it won’t connect To my 2015 Cadenza automatically. I assume it’s a phone issue, but I thought you guys might have heard of a solution. It connects manually, except that the car says “contact download failed”. But it works fine.

Comment on 2019 Kia Niro EV Release Date by Nathan Curtis https://www.classickiacarrollton.com/blog/2019-kia-niro-ev-release-date/#comment-9 Fri, 05 Jul 2019 16:07:11 +0000 http://www.dealerfireblog.com/classickiacarrollton/?p=140#comment-9 I just spoke with sales managers at several Kia dealerships in Houston and Dallas, here’s the deal as of July 2019… the Kia mothership will not allow dealerships to sell the Niro EV unless they have a certified technician in place. There is currently only one dealership in Texas (out of Austin) with such a certified tech. For now, if you want this model in TX, you need to purchase from Austin or import from out of State. However, if servicing is required (I’m not referencing cabin air filter changes, rather a catastrophic failure like car won’t start) – you’ll need to get that done in Austin. That is, until other dealerships get techs certified.

It does qualify for the full $7,500 tax credit, but don’t hold your breath waiting for the car to be offered here. The Hyundai Kona has been out for a while and, according to Hub Hyundai in Houston/Katy, there is currently no plan to bring it to Texas.
