Introducing the all-new 2020 Kia Soul EV

Kia brought quite a few exciting things to the 2018 LA Auto Show this year, and we’ve already talked about two of them. The third and final new vehicle that Kia introduced at the unofficial kick-off of auto show season was the 2020 Kia Soul EV, a completely electrified version of the all-new, redesigned Soul. It makes sense that Kia’s most iconic vehicle would be one of the few to take its turn at electrification, and we cannot wait to see how successful the newest version is. It’s unclear how widespread availability of the all-new vehicle will be, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed that the 2020 Kia Soul EV will make its way to us here in Carrollton TX.

Despite the unclear nature of its availability, we wanted to at least give you a look at the incredible technology utilized in the vehicle as it’s a glimpse of what Kia is capable. You can read our blog about the 2020 Kia Soul to get a better idea of the design and features available in the subcompact crossover after its total redesign, but here we’ll focus specifically on what the Soul EV has to offer.

2020 Soul EV Specs & Features

Working very similarly to the other new electric vehicle we just covered, the Soul EV is powered by the combination of a 64-kWh battery and an electric motor capable of generating 201 horsepower alongside 291 pound-feet of torque. With the new Combined Charging System being offered as standard equipment, the DC fast-charge is capable of giving you the ability to travel even long-distance road trips behind the wheel, as long as you’re comfortable taking short breaks to recharge.

At this point in time, the EPA has yet to release a range estimation as it continues to test the new battery & motor. Be sure to keep checking back here on the Classic Kia of Carrollton blog for more information on the Soul EV and its availability here in Texas.
