Kia has a lot of incredible technologies in store for the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show. These technologies are so exciting, that the brand has given us a sneak peek at some of them. All of the technologies will be combined into a ‘Space of Emotive Driving’ exhibit, with the centerpiece being the R.E.A.D. System – aka Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving. Rather than focusing on automated driving technology, which a whole slew of manufacturers and other tech companies are currently doing, Kia is looking ahead to a time beyond autonomous driving, when connected vehicles are commonplace. Technologies like the R.E.A.D. System will be important in that future.

The R.E.A.D. System

We’ll know much more after CES 2019, which kicks off next week, but for now, we know that he R.E.A.D. System will be able to optimize and personalize the interior cabin space of an equipped vehicle by utilizing Artificial Intelligence and bio-signal recognition technology to analyze the driver’s emotional state in real-time. If that sounds like some futuristic science fiction mumbo jumbo… that’s because right now it still is, but soon its fictitiousness will be banished courtesy of Kia.
