2020 Telluride ready to go to work for future drivers and passengers

2020 Kia Telluride Passenger Space, Cargo Volume and Towing Specs

Crossover SUVs are the most popular class of vehicles in the United States. Kia has been producing a diverse roster of crossover SUV platforms for several years. However, 2020 will mark the first production period of the automaker’s largest and most capable model – the Kia Telluride. The 2020 Kia Telluride passenger space, cargo volume and towing specs will place the all-new crossover SUV in the top echelon of the segment. When the 2020 Telluride arrives at the Classic Kia of Carrollton showroom, it will offer three rows of seating that can be easily adapted for massive amounts of cargo volume and display excellent towing scores. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect to see.

How many people can fit in the 2020 Telluride?

As the largest crossover SUV in the automaker’s lineup, the 2020 Kia Telluride offers plenty of space to make even the longest trips very comfortable. The new Telluride has a maximum seating capacity of eight, which consists of two rear bench seats. However, there are also trims available that will top out at seven passenger seats with the difference being the second row of captain’s chairs.

The LX and EX trims have the maximum seating capacity and the top-of-the-line SX model has a seven-passenger capacity. Classic Kia of Carrollton customers choosing the middle S trim can have a choice of the two seating configurations.

Cargo volume dimensions

Flexibility is the name of the game in the crossover SUV segment. The 2020 Kia Telluride can easily flip its large passenger cabin into one of the most cavernous cargo bays in the automotive industry. When the rear two rows of seats are being used by passengers, it will still have 21 cubic-feet of cargo volume to use. Folding the third-row away expands cargo space in the crossover SUV to 46 cubic-feet. Configuring the interior of the 2020 Telluride for maximum cargo-hauling capacity makes 87 cubic-feet available to use.

Towing specs

Given the overall physical dimensions of the 2020 Kia Telluride, a special powertrain needed to be employed. A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter, V-6 engine attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission provides 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It can also be equipped with either front- or all-wheel-drive. All four trims of the new Telluride have the same towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, a competitive mark that matches the rest of its competition.
