Global agency awards Kia Stinger with brand new honor for engineering

Kia Stinger wins inaugural engine award from J.D. Power group

When the 2018 Kia Stinger first arrived at the Classic Kia Carrollton showroom, it introduced a new era to anyone interested in the automaker’s lineup. The high-performance sportback has been such a revelation to the industry, that the Kia Stinger has won an inaugural engine award from J.D. Power and Associates. The J.D. Power Engineering Award for Highest-Rated All-New Vehicle is in its first year of existence combines ratings done from the group’s other awards including Initial Quality™ and APEAL™. Kia is the first manufacturer to take this particular piece of hardware home.

“The Stinger is the result of years of hard work and dedication from the industry’s top designers and engineers. We turned what was once considered a dream car into a startling and enthralling new reality,” Michael Cole, chief operating officer & EVP, Kia Motors America, said in a press release. “Being the first auto manufacturer to receive this prestigious award from J.D. Power, an organization known for excellence in research, is a true testament to Kia’s ‘Give It Everything’ philosophy.”
