For the new model year, several Kia models were refreshed or redesigned in some way, whether big or small. Among the vehicles that were refreshed was the all-new 2019 Kia Sedona. What’s new in the 2019 Sedona?

Chief among the upgrades was the exterior design enhancements. While not extensive, the visual adjustments do grant the Sedona minivan a much bolder appearance than ever before, keeping the vehicle fresh and new in its segment which is surprisingly competitive despite the low number of entries.

Beyond the aesthetical updates, the Sedona also received a new 8-speed automatic transmission, which lends itself to a more seamless driving experience than previous iterations of the vehicle could provide. The 8AT should lead to improved fuel economy ratings as well, though EPA-estimated ratings have yet to be released.

Finally, Kia completely redesigned its Rear Entertainment System, adding more functionality than previous versions of the RSE. Among the new functions is the capability to offer smartphone mirroring. The dual touchscreens are now 10.1” and located on the back of each front seat, whereas the past models offered overhead screens.
