2020 Kia Telluride vs. 2019 Honda Pilot
Kia chose to attack the heart of the crossover SUV segment with the development of its newest entry to the highly competitive class. A comparison of the 2020 Kia Telluride vs. 2019 Honda Pilot will make a strong case that Kia has hit the mark the automaker was aiming for. There was a time when the Pilot was the go-to model in the class. Kia engineers gave the 2020 Telluride more power, more cargo space and more standard towing capacity than its Honda competitor. The all-new Telluride comes with the latest Kia connectivity gear and makes a few other high-tech features available that won’t be found on this year’s Honda Pilot. Both the 2020 Kia Telluride and 2019 Honda Pilot offer three rows of seating with configurations that can accommodate seven or eight passengers. Front- and middle-row passengers will have more maximum available legroom in the 2020 Telluride than what is offered in the 2019 Honda Pilot. The two crossover SUVs have nearly identical dimensions for the third row of seats. When the rear two rows of seats in the 2020 Kia Telluride are filled with passengers, there will still be 21 cubic-feet of cargo volume to use. Folding the rearmost seat makes 46 cubic-feet available and, at maximum cargo configuration, there is 87 cubic-feet at owners’ disposal. Honda Pilot owners won’t be able to match those figures in most cases.

While the 2020 Telluride and 2019 Pilot each have a V-6 engine under the hood, the new Kia crossover SUV is going to offer better performance specifications than its Honda rival. The all-new 2020 Kia Telluride is powered by a 3.8-liter, V-6 engine attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission on all trim grades available at Classic Kia Carrollton. All models will produce 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Front- and all-wheel-drive can be equipped on all versions. The 2019 Honda Pilot uses a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine which will be mated to a six- or nine-speed automatic transmission. All versions of the 2020 Telluride can tow 5,000 pounds while Pilot owners will need to pay for some upgrades to match that capacity.
