2020 Kia Telluride vs. 2019 Volkswagen Atlas
The lineup of Kia crossover SUVs available at the Classic Kia Carrollton showroom is comprised of some of the most popular models in the country’s most popular vehicle segment. The manufacturer is asserting its dominance over the class with its newest model that rivals anything produced by the competition in terms of performance output and overall capability. A comparison of the 2020 Kia Telluride vs. 2019 Volkswagen Atlas will clearly illustrate just how impressive the new Kia crossover SUV truly is. The 2020 Kia Telluride is currently available at the Classic Kia Carrollton showroom and it has several important advantages over its Volkswagen competitor. In short, the 2020 Telluride can tow more and is more efficient than the VW Atlas. Customers can schedule a test drive with the new Kia Telluride today by calling, 866-559-8140.
Technology is important to all of us. Both the 2020 Kia Telluride and 2019 Volkswagen Atlas offer an infotainment system that is compatible with the Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. However, the all-new Telluride goes even further in leveraging technology to change the way people interact with, and experience, what the crossover SUV has to offer. In addition to common safety sensors like forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and rear traffic warning, the 2020 Telluride also adds proprietary systems like Highway Driving Assist, Rear Occupant Alert and Save Exit Assist to its list of standard safety features. One feature that isn’t available with the Atlas is Rear Occupant Alert. The new Telluride will provide a series of alerts and notifications to remind parents that someone is sitting in the back seat. These notifications can be audio alerts heard from within the Telluride or through SMS messages.

Kia produces the 2020 Telluride in four trim grades, LX, S, EX and SX. All of them use the same powertrain equipment, a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that is attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2020 Kia Telluride will produce 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Volkswagen uses a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine on the base models of the 2019 Atlas which makes 235 horsepower. Higher trims employ a V-6 engine of its own. The upgraded power plant tops out at 276 horsepower.
Obviously, fuel economy is important to all vehicle owners. Owners of the 2020 Telluride and the VW Atlas (with the four-cylinder engine) will get the same fuel efficiency scores of 20 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway, despite the Kia vehicle producing more power. The VW V-6 engine actually gets lower fuel economy scores than the engine used by the Telluride.
