Kia designed the first purpose-built SUV for sea turtles called the Turtle-Charged Sportage. Want to know the story behind it? As part of the Kia Accelerate the Good Program, they teamed up with Sea Turtle, Inc. to help the endangered sea turtles survive their adulthood. Kia refined the Sportage X-Pro with multi-terrain AWD and customized the model into a toolbox to suit the needs of sea turtles. Kia added features like a night vision camera, red LED spotlights, sand-ready tires, a first-aid kit, a roof rack, an algae bar, and a customized cargo bay to transport sea turtles’ egg nests.
